We have owned our 20 acre property in Cadell, South Australia for the last 26 years and in 2005 decided to become certified organic. We gained our fully certified organic status with NASAA in 2007. We realise now it was the best decision we have made.
Our crop consists of apricots, pears, peaches, plums, wine grapes and a few vegetables. Our stone-fruit and pears are packed fresh for markets around Australia and excess fruit is cut and sundried, which is a very labour intensive process. We have ducks roaming the property keeping the snails under control and only use biological controls when needed.
